Dr Abdelazim had also obtained a training and certificate in EMDR Therapy (London).
Dr. Abdelazim Ali was working in UK snice 1995, where he completed basic and higher training in Psychiatry and was working as a consultant psychiatrist at the National Health Services. He then moved to UAE in 2017, and he was working in Alain hospital, Psychiatric department, before he moved to his current job at Erada center. Dr. Abdulmohsen is a consultant forensic psychiatrist. He was the main psychiatrist behind Kuwait Mental Health Law that was passed in 2019. He is the Head of the Forensic Psychiatry Department at Kuwait Center for Mental Health (KCMH), the president of the Kuwait Psychiatric Association and the Founder of the Forensic Mental Health Services (FMHS) at Al-Amal Hospital, Dubai.
Dr. Abdulmohsen Alhumoud graduated from the Psychiatry and Forensic Psychiatry residency programs at the University of Toronto. He holds a Master of Jurisprudence in Health Law from Loyola University Chicago, School of Law and is pursuing his LLB law degree at Kuwait International Law School (KILAW). Dr. Ahmed Elshafei obtained his MD from Ain Shams University in 1993. He then completed his Masters in Neurology and Psychiatry and Ph.D. in Psychiatry in 1998 and 2002 respectively.
He is currently working as a Specialist Psychiatrist in his Private owned Clinic in Cairo. He is also serving as a Consultant in GMC Clinic, Dubai. Dr. Azhar Abu-Ali is currently a senior licensed clinical psychologist at Latifa Hospital under the Dubai Health Authority. She is the Scientific Chair of the Emirates Child and Adolescent Mental Health Society (ESCAM) Board and the Chairperson of the Infant Mental Health Committee under ESCAM, in addition to a member of the Arabian Child and Adolescent Mental Health Association. Dr. Abu-Ali specializes in working with children, adolescents, and families. Her other specializations include working with trauma survivors such as domestic violence, child abuse, war, medical trauma, grief and loss, and complex trauma. Additionally, Dr. Abu Ali provides specialized psychotherapy modalities including play, sand, and art therapy.
Dr. Abu-Ali has previously served as the Director of Care and Rehabilitation in the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children, worked as a Research Consultant with the World Bank, and served in other capacities such as Clinical Intern Supervisor, and Director of the school-based mental health program for immigrants at the Center for Multicultural Human Services in the United States. Dr. Abu-Ali has completed her academic and clinical training in California and Virginia.
Dr. Abu-Ali published and participated in comprehensive regional research and theoretical projects focusing on adolescent identity development, child survivors of trauma, treatment efficacy, and multicultural competency. Currently, Dr. Abu-Ali is conducting grant-funded research on caregiving and chronic pediatric illness in the United Arab Emirates. She further specializes in developing and conducting training workshops for professionals in the field of mental health and health care. Christoph Correll, MD, is professor of Psychiatry at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell in New York, and Medical Director of the Recognition and Prevention (RAP) program at the Zucker Hillside Hospital in New York. He completed his medical studies at the Free University of Berlin in Germany, and Dundee University Medical School in Scotland. He is board certified in general psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry, having completed both residencies at The Zucker Hillside Hospital in New York City.
Professor Correll’s research and clinical work focus on the identification, characterisation and treatment of adults and youths with severe psychiatric disorders, including the prodrome, first episode, multi-episode and refractory illness phase of psychotic and mood disorders. He further focuses on psychopharmacology and comparative effectiveness, as well as the risk–benefit evaluation of psychotropic medications.
Professor Correll has authored or co-authored over 450 journal articles. He has served on several expert consensus panels on the use of antipsychotics across a range of psychiatric disorders, is a reviewer for over 70 peer-reviewed journals and an editorial board member of 12 scientific journals. Professor Correll is the Principal Investigator or Steering Committee member of several large, federally funded grants. He has received over 30 national and international research awards and fellowships for his work. Since 2014, the year of inception of this metric, he has been listed each year by Thomson Reuters in as one of “the most influential scientific minds” and “top 1% cited scientists in the area of psychiatry”.

Dr. Haseeb Rohilla is an Irish trained psychiatrist with over 18 years of extensive expertise in the management and treatment of a wide range of mental health problems in hospital based as well as community-based settings.
Dr. Rohilla completed his training in psychiatry on one of the most prestigious post graduate training schemes in Dublin, Ireland. He became member of the Royal College of Psychiatrist London in 2007, completed his diploma in clinical psychiatry from the Royal College of Physicians Ireland in 2008 and became a Member of the College of Psychiatrists Ireland in 2009. Dr Joseph El-Khoury’s research interest is in the prevention and treatment of mental health disorders. He has published on health services and on the link between substances and psychosis. He is the Global Mental Health Scholar for a joint WHO/Columbia University(us) collaboration and is involved in the field implementation of the revised classification of diseases (ICD-11) on a regional level. Additional interests are in the prevention of substance abuse in youth and the implementation of specialist treatment programs for schizophrenia and related conditions. Dr El-Khoury has extensive experience in medical education and will serve as the associate director of the psychiatry residency program. Dr El-Khoury qualified in medicine in the United Kingdom (2002) and completed his psychiatry training in London and Oxford. Dr. Meshal Sultan is a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist at Al Jalila Children’s and an Assistant Professor at Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU), Dubai, UAE. He is an International Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada.
Dr. Sultan obtained his medical degree from UAE University in 2007. He completed his psychiatry residency training as well as child and adolescent psychiatry subspecialty fellowship at the University of Ottawa. He has obtained certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Psychiatry as well as in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. He has extensive expertise in outpatient, inpatient, consultation-liaison, emergency, school mental health, and tele-psychiatry.
Dr. Sultan has published in peer-reviewed journals, and presented in international conferences on several topics including attention-deficit/ hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), collaborative care, and mindfulness.
Dr. Sultan is very interested in teaching. He has given seminars and provided clinical supervision to medical students at University of Ottawa. He currently teaches at the Introduction of the Practice of Medicine Course as well as the Mind and Behaviour Module at MBRU. Dr Nadia Dabbagh is a UK-trained consultant child and adolescent psychiatrist who has been working in Dubai Health Authority (DHA) since April 2011. She contributed to the establishment of child psychiatry services at Rashid Hospital as well as at Al Jalila Children’s Specialty Hospital prior to its departure from the DHA in 2016. She currently covers child and adolescent psychiatry outpatient, inpatients and liaison services throughout the DHA. Dr Dabbagh is Programme Leader for Dubai’s Mental Health Strategy 2021.
Dr Dabbagh embarked on her training to become a psychiatrist over 20 years ago in 1993, initially doing her undergraduate medical studies and research at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals and University College London, then General Psychiatry training in the Royal Free and Associated Hospitals to obtain membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 2005, followed by Completion of her Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Specialist Consultant Training (CCT) at the Tavistock Clinic, London.
Dr Dabbagh has a BSc and PhD in Medical Anthropology and an MSc in Psychiatric Research. She is the author of the book ‘Suicide in Palestine: Narratives of Despair’ as well as several published articles in international peer-reviewed journals. Dr Dabbagh is passionate about developing efficient, evidence-based and culturally sensitive mental health services for children and adolescents living in the UAE. He had completed his higher training in general adult psychiatry and awarded his (CCT) in General Adult Psychiatry from the UK. He was also awarded a diploma in Clinical Psychiatry (DCP) from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Ireland, Dublin.
